Extraordinary cruel methods are often used to ensure the “finest” quality of leather is produced from these skins. Lizards and snakes are skinned alive, as to ensure the leather is “supple.” Kangaroos are decapitated. Baby goats are boiled alive. In India, cows are crammed into trucks and shuttled to slaughter houses, where their feet are tied together before their throats are cut (PETA.org). It’s a harsh reality.
