Vegetable dye is permanent and does not fade even after many washes this makes it high quality. The printing done on high quality bedding has to be neat and crisp. The printing process used to dye the linen is a good tell tale about the quality of the fabric. Wooden blocks, which are usually made from pear wood, are used for dying as they aide the dye in penetrating the sheets deeper. This gives them the look of being embroidered. Not only do the sheets look good but the colour stays in the fabric longer and does not run even after washing.
